Riot Games interviews students who are often in classes during regular interview hours so they wanted a solution that provided them with scheduling flexibility to speak to as many students as possible without affecting their working hours.

What are some of the results you’ve seen with Spark Hire?

A:

This is the first time we used a one-way video interviewing software and it was effortless.

Using Spark Hire, we recruited 28 student ambassadors from over 90 scheduled interviews. That added up to about 110+ hours of video interviewing footage.

How does video interviewing fit into your hiring process?

A:

Video interviewing is important for our hiring process because we are global a company and have very strict hiring criteria (must be a gamer, must be smart). Rioters (our employees) are a rare breed. Using Spark Hire, we were able to use one-way video interviews to reach the right candidates across the globe.

How did you get your team members to buy into video interviewing?

A:

The team agreed that the solution had to be easy to navigate for interviewees, accessible for reviewers, and cost effective. After deciding on some criteria, it was really just showing them how the tool worked.

Spark Hire was actually recommended by a friend who had used the software. The team was very happy from the outset. As a bonus, the website makes it very simple to discern which plans to go for and clearly explains the functionality of the tool.

What is the biggest impact that video interviewing has on your hiring process?

A:

Video interviewing took the stress out of having to schedule over 90 interviews in less than 6 weeks. Spark Hire’s platform is very intuitive. It allowed us to adopt a very different hiring approach in a very short amount of time.

Not only is Spark Hire an intuitive tool, but it is also something that was truly designed with efficiency in mind. One example of this is having the ability to save question and email templates and then easily add new candidates to the same job opening.

Why should other gaming companies look into video interviewing?

A:

It will save them time, save them money when compared to the man hour cost of managing and scheduling interviews, and allow multiple people to review the same interview without necessarily having to be present during the interview or to have to listen to all parts of the interview.

Q:

What is your favorite aspect of video interviewing?

A:

For one-way video interviews, I love the fact you can just skip certain responses without feeling like you're not listening to the candidate. You can repeat responses and compare different candidates very easily. Moreover, you can do all these comparisons and selections as a group.

I also love the interface, the support, and the integration with our ATS, Greenhouse.
